North-South All-Star Tennis Event

Twenty-four New Mexico high school student-athletes will compete in the first North-South All-Star Tennis Championships, to be held September 15-16 at Tanoan Country Club. 

Named to the North boys squad are: Shepard Moore, Sandia; Rand Briggs, Bosque; Christian Fitzgerald, Sandia; Andrew Patten, Bosque; Jeff Sanchez, Sandia; and Robert Byatt, Eldorado. 

On the North girls squad: Paloma Gomez, St. Mikes; Molly Merrion, Farmington; Ingrid Chavez, La Cueva; Madeline Margevicius, Los Alamos; Gillian Hsieh-Ratliff, Los Alamos; and Terese Martinez, Valley.
 
The coach of the North is Dick Johnson, La Cueva.

Representing the South boys are:  Matthew Becker, Belen; Ryan Maki, Mayfield; Cody Watts, Carlsbad; Matty Geary, Alamogordo; William Rehfeld, Albuquerque High; and Cameron Crawford, Lovington. 
 
The South girls are:  Eliana Garcia, Carlsbad; Kaztlyn Crow, Lovington; Elizabeth Martinez, Belen; Amber Seay, Hobbs; Jacinda Hatfield, Lovington; Hellen Chion, Carlsbad.

Jimmy Crawford of Lovington will coach the South.

The event will include three mixed doubles matches followed by three boys doubles and three girls doubles, then three boys singles and three girls singles.  Buster Mabrey of The New Mexico High Coaches Association is organizing the event in coordination with Sue Jollensten, tournament director of the Coleman Vision Tennis Championships.
