Nicole Fintell Hired as Jr Player Development Manager

Fintell Hired As New Junior Player Development Manager 

 

FintellUSTA Southwest recently announced the hiring of Nicole Fintell as the new Junior Player Development Manager for the section. 

Fintell will coordinate and manage all facets of all USTA Southwest Player Development, in short coordinating and supervising Regional Training Centers and Competition Training Centers, as well as overseeing the administration of sectional junior competitive team events and processes, as well as the Junior Ranking Program. 

Fintell, who was born in El Paso, was a Texas State 5A team champion for El Paso Coronado High in 2000 and state doubles champion in 2001 and 2003. She played junior tennis across the USTA Southwest as a junior, and represented the section in several national team events.

After high school, Fintell played college tennis at New Mexico State from 2003-2007 and garnered all-Academic Western Athletic Conference honors in her last two years. She received her degree from NMSU in human nutrition and food science. 

She took on a volunteer assistant role at New Mexico State in 2012 and has been teaching tennis since 2007, working with several top-ranked juniors.  

"I am honored to have been selected as the new junior player development manager for our Section," said Fintell. "I am looking forward to working with the our staff here as well as the national staff to grow our junior section tennis participants and, hopefully, strengthen the level of junior tennis here in the Southwest."
