Geoff Embry Hired As Jr Player Dev Manager

Embry Hired As New Junior Player Development Manager 
 
USTA Southwest recently announced the hiring of Geoff Embry as the new Junior Player Development Manager for the section.

Embry will coordinate and manage all facets of all USTA Southwest Player Development, in essence coordinating and supervising Regional Training Centers and Competition Training Centers, as well as overseeing all facets of sectional junior competitive team events and processes, and implementing and administering the Junior Ranking Program.

GeoffEmbry_mugEmbry is a native Phoenician and a 2006 graduate of Mountain Pointe High School in Ahwatukee, Ariz.  During his senior season at Mountain Pointe, Embry captured the Arizona state high school singles championship (Class 5A, Division I).
 
He was an all-state selection all four years of high school. He played in Southwest tournaments since he was six years old, and was also a former top-ranked junior in USTA Southwest as well as a nationally-ranked junior.
 
After completing high school at Mountain Pointe in 2006, Embry accepted a scholarship to University of Oregon in Eugene.

He transferred to the University of Arizona in Tucson in 2008, and finished the final two seasons of his collegiate career as a Wildcat.  

"After playing in the Southwest section my whole life, this job really is a perfect fit for me," said Embry.

"I'm really looking forward to getting to know all the junior players and their parents, and just help them out as much as I can."
