The eleventh year of the Angel Fire Resort and Quail Ridge Resort Challenge was a huge success! Angel Fire edged Taos in Angel Fire on July 16 seven matches to four (Angel Fire won four out of six third set tie-breakers). Quail Ridge Resort rebounded at home and won ten matches to four (Taos won two out of four third set tie- breakers). We had a record number of 28 teams (56 players) in Taos competing in men's, women's, and mixed doubles doubles competition. Kurt Edelbrock, Director Of Tennis at Quail Ridge started this great event eleven years ago! The host team provides lunch and it has become one of the premier events in Northern New Mexico with friendly compatible competition and wonderful camaraderie! Brett Hall, Angel Fire Tennis Director and Kurt Edelbrock from Taos have been friends since Brett was a pro in El Paso, Texas in the 80's!
