7th Annual Christina Kent Benefit Tournament

The Christina Kent Early Childhood Center (CKECC) is happy to announce the dates of its 7th Annual Tennis Tournament fundraiser hosted at Highpoint Sports and Wellness on August 14 and 15, 2010. As a welcome addition, the Tournament has added free Fun & Fitness Days for the entire Albuquerque community. Registration begins on July 1, 2010. More information and registration logon to christinakent.org after July 1, 2010.

The Tournament has raised $20,000 in each of the last 2 years to support CKECC. This year,
Carrie Aiken, CKECC Executive Director, says they are “hoping to raise $30,000 this year to help with much needed increases in operating costs such as paying teaching staff, purchasing classroom supplies and more.” To do this, the tournament is pulling out all the stops and has added a player party/barbecue Saturday evening.   After receiving feedback from players last year, the ever popular gift certificates will be given as prizes for the first and second place winners and also for consolation rounds. CKECC will once again have a silent auction and raffle. The auction highlights an O.K. Harris sculpture entitled “Fallen Leaves”. In addition, CKECC will continue to have the fast serve contest, tennis clinic, and the kid’s program. Highpoint Sports and Wellness has graciously offered to host a Family Fitness weekend offering a five day pass to all five New Mexico Sports & Wellness locations for a minimum donation of $20.00.  Aiken says, “The Family Fitness opportunity will allow us to reach out to the Albuquerque Community to participate in this extraordinary event. All proceeds from the family fitness weekend and the tennis tournament will go to Christina Kent. I appreciate all the extra effort Sports and Wellness has put forth towards this event.”
