Women's professional tennis will return for the 13th consecutive year to Albuquerque, N.M. for one of the longest-running Pro Circuit stops on the USTA Pro Circuit, the $75,000 ColemanVision Tennis Championships presented by Corley's Albuquerque Lincoln/Mercury Volvo, held Sept. 19-26.
The CVTC returns to Albuquerque's scenic Tanoan Country Club. Thisy ear's CVTC will include several players ranked inside the Top 100 on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour.
Defending champion is Shenay Perry, of the United States.
This year's tournament entry list is still being decided upon, but players like Justine Henin and Maria Sharapova have made stops on their way to stardom on the USTA Pro Circuit events like the ColemanVision.
So the CVTC is an EXCELLENT opportunity for tennis fans and spectators to catch these players while they are on the rise, and to get up close and personal with
Another terrific reason to support the tournament is that the event's proceeds go to help support the New Mexico Youth Tennis Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) . The CVTC has been widely supported in the past by the Albuquerque tennis community, and often includes a Pro-Am, school clinics for youngsters, and uses a large base of volunteers from the Albuquerque tennis community to help put on this showcase of pro talent.
The tournament is named after Dr. Stephen Coleman, a world-renowned laser eye surgeon who is based in Albuquerque, and who is a passionate tennis player and lover of the sport. Come out and support the ColemanVision this fall!
