Juniors Enjoying Another Season of Team Tennis!
The 2018 Summer Junior Team Tennis district tournament was held on July 14 & 15 at Jerry Cline.
28 teams competed within the 12s, 14s and 18s divisions. Read this article for the results and to see which teams have advanced to Sectionals August 3-5.
The 12s Draw was a round robin format with 4 teams: Tanoan, First Serve, Lobo and La Cueva
Results: Lobo placed 1st with a total of 99 games won. Tanoan placed 2nd with 80 total games won, and First Serve placed 3rd with 76 total games.
(***Tanoan and First Serve will be advancing to Sectionals, as Lobo did not have enough available players for the weekend of sectionals.)

The 14s Intermediate Draw included 8 teams and was an advancing format draw. Teams included: Lobo, Highpoint, First Serve, La Cueva, Tanoan, Bosque, Belen and Valencia.
Results: Tanoan placed 1st defeating Lobo 3-3 matches, 27-24 in games. Lobo placed 2nd. First Served placed 3rd after defeating Valencia in a tight playoff match, 3-3 matches and 27-19 in games.

The 18s Intermediate Draw included 11 teams in an advancing format draw. Teams included: Canyon Club, Valley, Eldorado 1, Valencia, Bosque, Belen, TCA, Tanoan 1, Eldorado 2, La Cueva, Tanoan 2.
Results: Tanoan 2 (Andy's team) placed 1st defeating Eldorado 1 (score of 4-2 in matches, 31-28 in games). Eldorado 1 placed 2nd, and Canyon Club defeated the TCA team for 3rd place (4-2 in matches, 28-23).
Tanoan and Eldorado will be competing at the Sectional tournament.

The 18s Advanced Draw was a round robin format with 4 teams: Tanoan 1, Tanoan 2, Eldorado and Bosque.
Tanoan 1 placed 1st with total games of 91. Tanoan 2 placed 2nd with 85 total games. Eldorado placed 3rd with 59 games and Bosque 4th with 53.
Tanoan 1 and Tanoan 2 will be competing at Sectionals.
