Summer Youth League

The summer youth league will be starting June 16.  There will be two divisions:  White Division for ages 14 and under; and the Blue Division for ages 18 and under.  There will also be two skill levels in each age group:  "Stars" are for those with a JNTRP rating of 3.0 and below (SW ranking of 41 or below); and "Stripes" are for those with a JNTRP rating of 3.5 and above (SW ranking of 40 or above).  Entry fees are a mere $10 per player.  On-line rosters are due July 1.  We are also on the lookout for Parent Captains.  Actually, the captains can be any interested tennis person--pro, coach, parent, friend, etc.  It's great fun and you also get a $4 incentive payment from the USTA for each team member on a submitted roster (up to $36 per roster).  The end-of-season tournament is July 23-24 at Jerry Cline.

Teams consist of a minimum of three boys and three girls up to a total of 10 players on each roster.  The match format is a six game set, no ad scoring or 30 minute timed sets (whichever occurs first).  A 12 point tiebreaker at 5 games all will be used.  Any one player may play in two categories--i.e., singles, and doubles; doubles and mixed doubles; or singles and mixed doubles.  No player may play in all three divisions, however.
