Press Release 1.22.21

NM YOUTH TENNIS FOUNDATION ASSISTING NEW MEXICO JUNIORS

Because of the elimination of all junior tennis tournaments and competition by Governor Lujan Grisham, the New Mexico Youth Tennis Foundation (NMYTF) has offered assistance to juniors having to travel out of state to compete.  The NMYTF sent e-mails to the 27 New Mexico juniors traveling out of state to advise them that the foundation would provide them with $100/tournament in travel expenses for each tournament played outside of NM in the fourth quarter of 2020.  Nothing was required of the juniors other than to reply to the e-mail indicating acceptance of the offer and providing a current mailing address to which to send the check.

Seventeen NM juniors accepted the offer, which resulted in the distribution of $4,200 in assistance.  The same offer is going to be made to juniors forced to travel out of state to compete in the first quarter of 2021.  Those juniors will be contacted at the end of the quarter.

The NMYTF also provides assistance to youth needing assistance before the end of 1st Quarter 2021, for programs provided to NM youth, and for adults needing assistance for training to work with juniors.  Go to nnmta.usta.com for additional information.
